About us
IDOX plc is the parent company of the specialist information and knowledge management businesses, known as IDOX group, focusing on the development and delivery of software products and content for information and knowledge sharing, recruitment and training of information professionals at all levels, and consultancy services.
Software
The IDOX suite of software is an enterprise-wide information management suite of applications. It has several modules designed to capture, manage, store, preserve and deliver information for use both within an organisation and for access externally - by the public, clients or other partners. IDOX software focuses on the areas of electronic document and records management, online forms, workflow and web-based information capture and distribution. This suite of software was initially developed for the planning departments of local authorities but has been developed to meet the needs of other specialised departments and entire organisations.
IDOX Enterprise is our latest initiative that focuses on monitoring and improving performance across key council land and property based services. Combining our newly developed Enterprise Front End software with our business process re-engineering and change management experience, Enterprise delivers real and immediate performance gains to local authorities.
UNI-form is a suite of integrated software modules that are designed to help local authorities meet service delivery and efficiency goals by transforming the way information is handled relating to land, people and property (within individual departments or across your whole authority). UNI-form integrates with other systems and can be implemented as an e2e solution, transforming the efficiency of your processes from beginning to end.
The Plantech Suite is a corporate information mangement system that is designed to transform service delivery and performance. Advocating collaborative working, Plantech ACOLAID allows local authorities to share a corporate pool of street, land and property information
IDOX group offers a full range of support services for its software suites, including project management, training, helpdesk, application and technology consultancy. These services are delivered by skilled, professional consultants with experience of the public sector environment.
Managed Services
IDOX group's Managed Services expertise has grown by working in partnership with its local authority clients. The public sector recognises that it is not realistic to undertake certain tasks within the organisation - especially when resources are in short supply. UKPlanning is designed to provide Planning & Building Control departments with an efficient means of realising e-Government targets quickly, whilst taking the stress and risk out of administering applications, both on and offline. Planning applications are scanned and indexed using IDOX Software and displayed on the councils' websites, and on the UKPlanning website, for public review and comment. Applications can also be made online.
Unity is our Managed Services offering that is designed to utilise IDOX group expertise to manage the delivery of one or more UNI-form elements, and enable significant savings and better performance to be enjoyed as a result. Local authorities can mix and match Unity's portfolio of services to meet their specific circumstances. Services include Managed Hosting, Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), Desktop Application Management, and Technical Management.
Information Services
IDOX group provides content to the public sector and associated private sector organisations on all aspects of economic, environmental and physical regeneration and development in the UK. This encompasses everything from forward planning and development control issues, to the e-Government and Modernisation Agenda, from enterprise development to lifelong learning, and from social inclusion issues to health and housing. In 2000, the British Library assessed its information as better than their own or that held by the former London Research Centre. This service complements and adds capacity to in-house research. Access to the service is by membership only.
TFPL
TFPL's consultancy team works with clients in all areas of knowledge, information, library, records and web content management. They have helped many public sector clients prepare for the implementation of the Freedom of Information Act in 2005 through information and records audits, strategy and process development, procedures and awareness seminars and training sessions. Regular assignments involve assisting clients to develop information architectures, taxonomies and metadata for internal information systems, portals, websites and intranets.
TFPL's recruitment services include executive search and the placement of permanent, interim management and contract personnel in all positions requiring knowledge, information, library, records or web content management skills and experience. Executive search clients have recently included universities, pharmaceutical companies and law firms. Senior interim management candidates have been placed in many public sector organisations, such as the Learning and Skills Council, HM Treasury and the parliamentary and Health Services Ombudsman.
TFPL's training team provides both open and in-house courses in all aspects of knowledge, information and records management. It also develops bespoke awareness and learning programmes for groups of clients.
